SOCIAL CARE WORKER

TERMS: PART TIME HOURS; INITIAL 1-YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT
ROLE SUMMARY
Social Care Worker required to support two energetic, active young men
with autism living in Dublin north-east and a young man in Celbridge
Co. Kildare. Your role is to support them to develop their
independence in their home and to lead a meaningful, inclusive,
enjoyable life. We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic person who can
work on their own initiative with good common sense and a good sense
of humour.
MAIN DUTIES:
* Social Care Workers must have a full driver licence and be
prepared to drive company vehicles
* Social Care Workers support each person in all areas of their
lives – in their home and community.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Experience in the social care/intellectual disability sector
preferably in residential and day service settings
* Skills to support people with autism in ordinary places in the
community
* Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
* Full, clean driver’s license
* Available to work residential hours which will include shift work/
sleepovers and weekends as part of an established friendly team.
* Proficient in using standard office IT applications such as
Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Hold a relevant qualification to degree level in the area of
social care
